I love it when I get a chance to take this show on the road, and that’s exactly what I’m doing on May 9-12 at EMC World in Las Vegas. This marks my fourth year working the Brocade booth, and this conference never disappoints. The theme is Cloud Meets Big Data, and I think the network matters now more than ever before. We always go large at EMC World and this time is no exception, as Elite Sponsors we will be rocking a 30×30 booth with lots of gear onsite for demos.
It’s easy to get overwhelmed at a convention the size of EMC World, so let me draw your attention to two sessions you don’t want to miss. The first one is titled, “The Future of Data Center Networking – An Update on Storage Network Protocols for Cloud Architectures,” being held on Tuesday, May 10 from 3:30 to 4:30 PM. The second one is called “Network Infrastructure for the Private Cloud” and it starts at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, May 11. The irrepressible AJ Casamento is giving both presentations; this alone should be worth the price of admission.
In between sessions I’ll be in booth #408 at the Solutions Pavilion answering questions and giving demos. We will have a VDX 6720 switch on hand, as well as demos showing our integration with EMC hardware and software. We’re also running specialized demos with VPLEX, as well as Greenplum, that will knock your socks off.
And if I’m not in the booth when you stop by for a demo, it’s probably because I snuck off to the Blogger’s Lounge to have a latte! Don’t worry I’ll be back.
It’s not all bits and demos either; we are also running a game show with some fun contests. Ken Newman is our Master of Ceremonies again this year, and there’s never a dull moment with that guy around. Oh by the way, did I mention we are giving away a chance to win $16,000? I’ll let you guess the significance of the 16 in that amount, feel free to sound off in the comments with your theories…
